AmazonSmile Nonprofit Support Program Cancelled

Amazon has announced the termination of its longstanding charitable program, AmazonSmile, after nearly a decade of operation. The program, which donated 0.5% of the sales price of selected items to various organizations worldwide, will begin winding down by February 20, 2023.

Since the program’s launch in 2013, more than $449 million has been donated to more than 1 million nonprofit organizations across the globe, according to the Nonprofit Times. In an effort to assist these organizations is a seamless transition out of the program, Amazon has announced that they will be making a one-time donation, equaling 25% of what the charities earned in 2022.

These donations have helped us in pursuing our mission of preventing suicide through mental health advocacy, education, and promoting conversations that help to end the stigma.
