Impactful Film Trilogy
(Concluded December 31, 2024)
The Speedy Foundation, in partnership with the Children’s Home Society of Idaho, was proud to bring The Impactful Film Trilogy by IndieFlix to our community. These powerful, thought-provoking films—The Upstanders, LIKE, and Angst—sparked important conversations, self-reflection, and meaningful dialogue around mental health.
Originally funded by the Idaho Resilience Project, the program was sustained by the Boise School District, Children’s Home Society of Idaho, and The Speedy Foundation. Together, our goal was to inspire hope, resilience, and agency, while creating safe spaces for youth and families to learn about mental health.
Our Journey
November 10, 2022
We launched the trilogy with a special screening of The Upstanders at JUMP in downtown Boise. Over 300 attendees engaged with a poignant film that addressed bullying and cyberbullying, followed by a community partner fair where participants connected with local organizations and resources.
May 27, 2023
Our second community screening, featuring LIKE, opened up vital conversations around social media’s impact on mental health. Hosted again at JUMP, the event included discussions with local leaders about balancing technology use in a digital age.
June 6, 2023
We proudly showcased the entire trilogy—The Upstanders, LIKE, and Angst—at Boise State University’s Student Union Building. Complete with popcorn, candy, and community partner outreach tables, this screening created both a theater experience and a hub for mental health dialogue.
2023–2024 School Year
Throughout the school year, the Boise School District hosted a variety of student-centered screenings and panel discussions. These events encouraged students to explore social issues through film while fostering conversations about resilience, kindness, and emotional wellness.
October 19, 2023
At Boise State’s Special Events Center, we screened Angst. Olympian Kristin Armstrong led an interactive Q&A session, joined by mental health professionals, offering attendees tools and understanding in a supportive community atmosphere.
December 31, 2024
The program concluded with extended access to the trilogy, ensuring even more community members could experience the films and engage in vital conversations about youth mental health, hope, and resilience.

Program Impact
Over its run, the trilogy brought students, families, and educators together for authentic conversations on bullying, technology, and anxiety. Feedback from participants affirmed the films’ power to shift perspectives, build empathy, and inspire resilience.
Though access ended on December 31, 2024, the conversations continue to shape schools, families, and organizations across Idaho and beyond.
