Since 2011…

The Speedy Foundation has collaborated with various partners to provide life-saving training to thousands of people.

The belief that suicide can be prevented through mental health education is what drives the Speedy Foundation to touch more and more lives every year. Through our workshops, we help transform normal everyday people into skilled Mental Health first-aiders. Our QPR training program creates “Gatekeepers” in as little as ninety minutes, members of the community with the skills to look out for someone who is potentially suicidal. We provide FREE online CALM training, aimed at reducing access to potentially lethal material by those at risk of suicide through educating their loved ones.

Another core aim is to equip young people with the tools they need to take of themselves and those around them through weekly virtual meetings for young people facing the pressure of academics while participating in competitive sports or athletics, as well as navigating a global pandemic all at the same time. Through other programs, we educate children as young as fifteen on how to recognize signs of mental health issues in their peers, so they can connect them to life-saving intervention resources, allowing them to work directly in schools as the eyes and ears on the ground, offering support and solidarity to their peers.

We don’t plan on stopping anytime soon, and our deepest wish is that our reach continues to expand so that we can spread our message of strength and hope. We won’t let Speedy’s death be in vain.
