Join Our Internship Program: Philanthropy & Outreach Intern
Location: Reno, NV & Boise, ID
Schedule: Part-Time ∙ Fall Semester
Pay: $15/hour
Eligibility: U.S. Work Authorization Required (Open to OPT/CPT candidates)
About the Role
As a Philanthropy and Outreach Intern, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in fundraising, event management, and community outreach while contributing to a cause that saves lives.
This internship is designed for college students at Boise State University and the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) who are motivated to make an impact in mental health advocacy and nonprofit work.
You’ll work closely with our team and other interns to support philanthropy campaigns, fundraising events, and outreach initiatives, all while gaining real-world nonprofit experience.
Internship History
The Speedy Foundation has a strong history of working with student interns to foster leadership, advocacy, and professional growth. Our interns have contributed to major fundraising events, community mental health campaigns, and national suicide prevention initiatives. Many have gone on to careers in public health, education, nonprofit leadership, and mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with philanthropy campaigns (e.g., Live PC/Give PC)
Support the development of our annual HOPE Golf Tournament
Solicit donations and manage sponsorship opportunities
Lead the creation of a fundraising and sponsorship toolkit
Research and track grants and funding opportunities
Help manage a fundraising platform
Attend and assist in planning community outreach events
Collaborate with staff and interns to expand community impact
Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Interest in mental health and suicide prevention (a personal connection is welcomed but not required)
Basic understanding of fundraising and donor relations
Familiarity with fundraising software is a plus
