New Research Opportunity for Nevada Teens: Paid Study on Social Media & Mental Health

The Speedy Foundation is excited to share an important opportunity for Nevada families, schools, and communities. The University of Nevada, Reno has launched The Teen Scroll Lab, a first-of-its-kind research project led by Dr. Samuel Ehrenreich, Dr. Ashley Greenwald, and Alex Rivera.

This groundbreaking study is focused on understanding how social media use impacts the mental health of teenagers—a topic that is more relevant than ever. The research team is currently looking for Nevada youth between the ages of 10 and 18 to participate in this paid study.

Why this matters

Social media is deeply woven into the lives of today’s teens, shaping the way they connect, communicate, and view themselves. While it has many benefits, researchers and families alike have also raised concerns about its potential effects on youth mental health. The Teen Scroll Lab is working to answer critical questions and advance meaningful conversations about how we can best support young people in the digital age.

How to get involved

If you know a teen who may be interested, please share this opportunity! Participation is open to Nevada youth ages 10–18, and compensation is provided. This is a chance for teens to directly contribute to research that could benefit countless young people in the future.
